CREATIVITY IN THE 21ST CENTURY by Crystal E Poet
Creativity is a phenomenal whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created items may be intangible (such as idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition, or a joke) or a physical object (such as an invention, a literary works, or a painting). Scholarly interest in creativity involves many definition and concepts of pertaining to the number of disciplines such as psychology, philosophy, cognitive science, education, philosophy, technology, theology, sociology, linguistic, business studies, song writing and economics covering the relation between creativity and general intelligence, mental and neurological process, personality types and creative ability.
However, Creativity begins with the foundation of knowledge, learning, and theuse of imagination or original ideas to create something imaginative. However creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Moreover, creativity is characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways to find hidden pattern to make connection between seeming unrelated phenomenal and to generate solutions. Creativity involves five procedures:
1. Thinking
2. Producing
3. Imagination (the power of imagination)
4. Innovation Thinking
Creativity begins with the foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, andmasteringof a way of thinking. Even you can learn to be creative by experimenting, exploring, questioning, assumption, using imagination and sinteringinformation as well as the useof original ideas to create something imaginative. Creativityrequires passion and commitment. It bring to our awareness what was previously hidden and points to new life .learning to be creative is to akin to learning sport, it requires practice to develop the right muscle and a supportive environment in which to flourish. Producing:According to Christensen and his researches uncovered that your ability to generate innovative ideas is not merely a function of the mind alone but also a function of afive key behavior that optimize your brain for discovery:
1. Association: Drawing connections between questions, problems or ideas from unrelated fields
2. Questioning: Posting queries that challenge wisdom
3. Observing: Scrutinizing the behaviors of customers, supplies and competitors to identify new ways of doing things

Innovation: innovation is the implementation of a new / significant impound product, service or process that create values for business, government or the society in general.
Over the years some people say creativity has nothing to do with innovations; innovation is a discipline, implying that creativity is not. To my own perspective, I disagree, creativity is also a discipline, and a crucial part of innovation equation so there is no innovation without creativity. The key matric in both creativity and innovation is value creations.
According to Daniel Pinkin his book ‘A WHOLE NEW MIND’he argued thatleft brain linear, analytical computer is like thinking are being replaced by right brain empathy, inventiveness and understanding as skills most needed by business. In other words, creativity gives you a competitive advantage by adding values to your service / products and differentiating your business from the competition, so without creativity you are doomed to compete in commodity hell.In view of all, creativity is the most crucial factor for future success.
